Calangute beach is one of the famous beaches in Goa. It is also known as the Queen of Beaches. The best time to visit here is November to February. The Calangute beach is usually crowded and the small resorts thrive in business during the holiday season. It is one of the most popular beach in Goa with a host of facilities to cater to visitors, including golden sand along the beach and water sports.
One of the places worth visiting nearby is the St. Alex Church. The Church of St Alex greets the visitors with its two towers and a magnificent dome gracing the façade. The inside of the church is a display of the line and beauty of its architectural style and attractive altars.

 

How to reach Calangute.


By train.

From Madgaon railway station you can take a taxi or an auto to Madgaon Bus stand in the main city of Madgaon. There will be regular bus services to Panaji. From Panaji bus stand there are regular bus services to Calangute all day, taking around 45 mins.
You can get down at Thivim railway station also, it is in between Madgaon and Sawanthwadi. From Thivim to Calangute is 17kms. ( We dont recommend this route because The Thivim Railway station is small and most of the trains pass by.)

By air.

Road Distance or driving distance from Dabolim Airport to Calangute is 42 kms (26.00 miles)

Things to do in Calabgute.

Calangute is the place for water jet, parachute, water ski and other water activities. Beach boys walk around and ask tourists. The price is normally 750 rupees for 10 minutes. You can try to bargain or ask for more time.
